John Calvin’s Multiplicity Thesis

چکیده

John Calvin holds that the fall radically changed humanity’s moral and epistemic capacities. Recognizing should lead Christian philosophers to see philosophical questions require at least two sets of answers: one reflecting our nature capacities before fall, other after fall. Our prelapsarian knowledge God, right, good is direct noninferential; postlapsarian them mostly indirect, inferential, filled with risk. Only revelation can move us beyond fragmentary indeterminate theological knowledge.
